WRITING PRESS

“Her work centers around nature and the seemingly quotidian but shifts to have conversations with and commentary about broader aspects of society and existence. The imagery and lanugage is beautiful and makes the reader think about things on a braoder level.”

REGENERATIVE HERBALISM

Sam has been learning from the plants since she was a young child in north west Georgia and west North Carolina, spending days in the red clay with honeysuckle and willow. As an adult and an artist, as a way to reconnect with the natural world, create a healed body, mind and nervous system, and improve her family's wellbeing, Sam turned once again to the healing of plants, and a spark began for sharing about nature and plant medicine, while staying true to her dedication to preserving the earth, healthy ecosystems, and the wellness of people. With so much exploitation of the earth and people, Sam is dedicated to making herbal products in a good way, that people can confidently use while honoring their values.

In 2022, Sam began her journey of preparing herbal blends for her local community, and was grateful for their immediate positive reception, bringing many repeat customers to farmers markets, restaurants, and the online store. Going forward, Red Fawn plans to build on both its herbalist and arts focuses, bringing both wellness and creative tools to the arts community.
